ADJOURNMENT OF THE S.M. & WARDEN'S COURTS PAEROA.
Oun Paeroa neighbour,’the u Hauraki Tribune, ” issued an extra yesterday morning, in which those responsible for the arrangements re the fixing of dates on which the Paeroa Warden’s Court is liolden, are dealt with very scathingly—and not without good cause. Our contemporary evidently believe in ‘‘calling a~*spade a spade.” 1 Wo cull the following : > “We have to apologise to our readers for announcing, this morning, that the Warden’s and S. M. Courts would sit at 10 a.m. ; they will not sit to-day. We are, however, in no way responsible for this piece of blundering. . No notice was given to us of the chango ; and we think it is time that some precaution was taken to prevent people coming in 12 or 16 miles on a bootless errand, as they have done on many occasions before. Common sense ought to have pointed ®ut that a public holiday was not exactly a suitable day for the Court—hut common sense and Government officers do not often .travel together.* ’ The Courts will sit on Thursday, the 31st January inst. at 10 a.m.” •• ••- ...
