NEW ZEALAND SHIP ON FIRE.
MEROPE BURNT AT SEA. SAFETY OF THE CREW. London, July 12. The American ship Bobock has arrived at Queenstown with a portion of the crew of the Merope, bound from Wellington to London, on board. On June 26th the Bobock found the Merope in flames, and burnt nearly to tho water’s edge. The captain and eleven of the crew of the ship Merope landed at Deal, tho vessel’s cargo having fired spontaneously near Buenos Ayres. Tho crew took to tho boats and were rescued.
