(From our own Correspondent.) K AKA VO AHA Ii E, Ti IU tsd UV. Adeline Amalgamated : Ctuslting tor this Company is proceeding at the Christchurch Co.’s battery, and is shaping for a good return. The tributers (Cotnes and Sheehan) are breaking ou fairly good ore, but will wait for better wcaihei and roads before making a start to forwarding their crushing direct ti< the battery.
Shepherd's Lease : A tramway has been laid down in one of the Kenilworth surface levels, which will theu be extended into their own ground.
Woodstock United : The contractors for driving the low level crosscut are making good headway, and will complete . the first section of 100 feet about the end obthis month.
Kenilworth Section: (Moore’s Tribute) : Payable stuff is coming to baud daily, but the water still continues troublesome.
lvnnhoe and Truro (Christchurch Syndicate’s): The battery is at present engaged in reducing a parcel of stone for the Adeline Company, when that is completed a start will be made on stuff from their own mine.
Crown Alines Company : The level ott the Welcome reef has been driven a distance of eighty feet without a break, which is rather unusual in this locality, where ‘heavts’ and ‘breaks’ so frequently occur. The reef is a compact body of quartz and carries gold throughout. At the battery the mills are kept steadily at work on stuff ft out the upper levels, and everything is working smoothly and well. As soon as the connection between the battery and Welcome reef is complete, a large parcel will at once be forwarded for treatment.
Puhipuhi Trial Parcel: I have not learned the result of the Cnssel Company’s treatment of this ore yet.
Miners’ Union : The Ohinemuri branch of the Miners’ Union are to hold llieir general meeting at Owlraroa, on Saturday, 19th inst. I.learn that about seventy members have alrealy joined.
