ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT.
Wellington, July 7. A number of informations have been sworn against Edward J. Robinson, formerly clerk in the Shipping Department of the Customs, charging him with embezzling the moneys of the Government. Robinson was formerly at Wellington, but three or four months ago was removed to Dunedin. He is be lieved to have left for Sydney. He is a well known footballer.
