Bailanoe gave notice of his iutentiun to move, on going into Supply, that : (I) In the opinion of this House the continuance of Primage Duty is unnecessary, and a distinct breach of the understanding arrived at when it was first imposed ; (2) Thatfuither retrenchment is imperatively demanded and can be effected without impairing the efficiency of the publie service ; (3) That the retention of the Property Tax in its present form, and the land policy pursued by the Government alike impede the progress of the colony. Mr Mitchelson, on behalf of the Government, accepted (his as a “ want of confidence ” motion. SULLIVAN, THE SCULLER, PROCEEDS TO SYDNEY. The Customs revenue collected in the Colony in June was L 102,760, aa compared with L 127,165 for the previous month, and 98,647 for June 1889.
