THREATENED STRIKE OF RAILWAY EMPLOYEES ADVERTED.
THE DIFFICULTY SETTLED,
When the Conference between the Commissioners and the Executive was resumed on Wednesday morning Mr McKerrow said that after careful consideration the Commissioners had agreed, to accept the proposal of the delegates for 54 hours per week (including concessions). He stated that it wouid be fully two years before the alterations could be brought completely into force, but in the meantime men would -be paid overtime after fifty four hours. : This settles the difficulty.
