MINE MANAGERS’ CERTIFICATES.

At a meeting at Dunedin on Thursday of the Council of the Chamber of Mines, it was resolved to recommend the Government to repeal the existing legislation regarding mining certificates, and introduce a Bill providing the grading of mining managers, and the issue of certificates accordingly, provision being made for the issue of cartificates other than first-class to such candidates as should prove, upon examination, to have been in successful practice for a period of years as mine managers.
