Hop Bitters, Anbreus, Mantilla, and Muriel, Carbine still last. At one mile Grandson ran up into third place, Bonnie Spec haying displaced the leadors. Carbine and Eclipse were last at the six lurlongs, where the field were well together, and at the bend Mantillaassumed command, Bonnie Spec and Antseus next, and Carbine coming fast on the outside. A furlong from home Mantilla held the lead, Sir William next, and Evelyn, Grandson, Melos, and Carbine in the order named. Carbine raced through his field opposite the Leger Stand, and coming away won easily by three-quarters of a length. Muriel was third, and Sir William good fourth. Then followed Melos, Lancer, Evelyn Rudolph, Tyranna, Bonnie Spec, Fernando, and Hop Bitters. Time, 3min 37sec. The Selling Plate, of 200sovs, fell bo Hugo, with The Bonee second, and Trojan third. Venapa appropriated the First Nursery Handicap, of 300sovs, Victor Hugo second, and Dora third. Nineteen started.
