BISHOP OF WELLINGTON OFFERS TO RESIGN.

Bishop Harper, of Christchurch, has received a telegram from the Bishop of Wellington, from which the following is an extract: Nelson, as Senior Bishop, to convene a special meeting of the Synod at an early date, at Wellington. April 16 is suggested. Inform him that when he has consented to convene the Synod, I will immediately send my resignation to him, and am telegraphing to all tho other Bishops for a separate requisition.” On receipt of the above, the Bishop of ChristchuTch telegraphed to the Bishop of Nelson, in accordance therewith. In consequence of the above, Bishop Neville has postponed his departure for Dunedin till to-morrow.
