SYDNEY GOLD CUP. The first payment for the Sydney Gold Cup has seen a good weeding out. It was looked on as certain that Abercorn and Cuirassier would be withdrawn, but I’m surprised at the absence of Scots Grey and Ellerdale. The field will be further reduced before the day. I fancy that Carbine or White’s best will turn out to be the winner.
