The first of the progeny of the ex-Auck-land Musk Rose (by Musket—Rosette), bred at Mr John Field’s stud, Tasmania, brought what must bo considered satisfactory prices. Mr S. G. Cook gave 205 guineas for a colt by Musk Rose from Cynthia, and the other prices were :—Black or brown filly, by Musk Rose—Mermaid (Mr Neil), 50gs ; brown filly, by Musk Rose— Idalia; bay colt, by Musk Rose—Whizgig (Mr Neil), 65gs ; brown filly, by Musk Rose —The West (Mr Neil), lOOgs ; brown filly, by Musk Rose—Tasma (Mr Talbot), 80gs ; black filly, by Proto-Martyr—The KibTen (Mr'G. Davis), 35gs ; bay colt, by Must Rose—Nancy Lee (Mr W. S. Cox), 25gs,
