Te Aroha Race Meeting.
The annual meeting, under the auspices of the Te Aroha Racing- Club, was held yesterday at the course on the farm of Mr John Woods, at Te Aroha West, and passed off very successfully. The weather, which had threatened in the morning to interfere with the sport, kept up during the uav, and though the sky at times wore a gloomy aspect, the clouds served to temper the oppressive heat which had prevailed for some days previously, and enabled the large concourse of spectators to enjoy themselves in perfect comfort. The surrounding districts were well represented, and many visitors were also sent from Waikato, Thames, and Katikati. A strong contingent of Maoris helped to swell the number on the field. Everything passed off in the most orderly manner and without any mishap to mar the pleasures ot the meeting.
