A.R.C. AUTUMN MEETING.

Considering the short distance between here and the West Coast, it is surprising that owners in that great racing country are not largely represented in the leading events of the Auckland Racing Club Autumn Meeting. The only entry from Taranaki is Vendor, while Wanganui is unrepresented. This is a contrast to some few years back. Hawke’s Bay owners are also poorly represented, Captain Russell being the only nominator. However, local owners are well to the fore, and it Mr Evett makes good handicaps, the racing should be up to the usual standard.
