On Saturday evening a meeting of persons interested in the proposed draught tournament for the Championship of Auckland was held at the Park Hotel. There was a large attendance, and Mr Johnson was voted to the chair. The Committee appointed at the previous meeting, reported that subscriptions were coming in freely. A series of rules for the regulation of the tournament were agreed to. lb was resolved to purchase a silver cup value £5 bo be competed for by allcomers on payment of an entrance fee of s*. Persons who havo subscribed that amount will also be entitled to compete. Tho winner shall be styled the champion, and provided he retain possession of the cup against allcomers for two years, the oup shall become his private property. All persons residing within the Auckland provincial district are to be allowed to enter. The entries for the Championship will close about the end of next week.
