THE WANGANUI CUP. Tiie Press Association supplies the following account of the running : Mr Powell despatched the field bo a good stare, the colours of Lcnore and Wakatipu first showing in front. Wakatipu assumed the lead going down the back, and led his field a merry dance, Lenore and Dudu following in that order with Hilda, Lady Florin, and Patchwork running in Indian file. Entering the straight, the field took close ordor. Past the stand Wakatipu still led, there being no change in the order of the others, and Patchwork still acting as whipper-in. Entering the straight for home, Wakatipu, Dudu, and Lenore were well together, and Lady Florin then made her effort. Dudu, however, had the best of it, and ran home with a bib to spare by a length, Lady Florin just failing to catch Wakatipu after a fast race. Lenore was fourth, Patchwork fifth, and Hilda last.
