GREAT DAMAGE BY FLOODS. SYDNEY, Feb. 24. The Hunter river, swollen by the recent floods, has risen fully thirty feet above its ordinary level. The Maitland people have become seriously alarmed, and are leaving their homes. Business is completely paralysed. The loss sustained by the floods is considerable ; great dam ge having been done to stock coming in from the country districts.
