The "jurors appended a note, of which the following is an extract“lb seems to us that the New Zealand fish best adapted for tinning are ‘mullet, mackerel, trout, lobsters, andoysters. We would advise those engaged in the preserving.industry to- confine their attention to these or similar fresh fish. Most other descriptions brought under our notice-are nob suitable for tinning, being too soft. The general. get up. of the exhibits in this-’ sub-division is excellent.” The-Auckland’ Fibre Co. take-first award with Donagby I and Co. in Manilla twine.
