INTERCOLONIAL CRICKET.

NEW SOUTH WALES V. CANTERBURY. VICTORY FOR NEW SOUTH WALES.

We left the match for Saturday afternoon’s play with Canterbury requiring 220 runs to win, Helmore and Wheatley having just gone to the wickets and played out time. At 10 runs Helmore was run out and was followed by Labatt. Wheatley gave Davis a catch soon after. 16—2—9. De Maue came in and at 30 McClinchy clean bowled Labatt. Ashby filled the vacancy, and after one nice cut was bowled by Callaway with the score at 34. A. Harman came in, and he and De Maus kept the score going by good cricket, the latter playing very steadily. At last McClinchy bowled De Maus. 64—5—23. Wilding came and went for a single, and Barnes made a wroDg use of his leg for a duck. 66—7—0. Callaway was not to be outdone by McClinchy, so he clean bowled Harman next ball. 66—8—13. Ogier came to the rescue, and he and Halley hit about freely till at 105 a bit of splendid fielding by Callaway sent Halley to the pavilion for 18. Moss partnered Ogier, but at 118 the latter returned the ball to McClinchy, and was out for 27. This left N.S.VV. victorious by 107 runs. The victors leave for Dunedin to-morrow. Scores
