THE LAND TAX.

ADDRESS BY SIR GEORGE GREYIn pursuance of the resolution passed at the recent annual meeting of the AntiPoverty Society, the Vice-President communicated with Sir George Grey, asking that gentleman whether he would consent to address a public meeting on the subject of a land tax, and speak from the platform of the Society. The following is Sir' Georee Grey’s reply:— “ Waiwera. 26th January, 1890. Dear _sir, —I congratulate you on successful meeting. It will give me great pleasure to comply with the wishes,of the Society by speaking at an early date on the subject of a ‘ Land Tax ’ from your Society’s platform.—Faithfully yours, (Signed) G. Grey.”
