DUNEDIN EXHIBITION.
THE WOOL AWARDS. February 1. The following are the Exhibition wool awards: In greasy merino, New Zealand and New South Wales were judged separately. First prizes were taken by Mr Johnston, of Kaihiko,'; Mr Campbell, of Otekaike; Messrs Watson and Shennan, Otago; Mr Goulter (Blenheim), Dennetb Bros. (Canterbury). The champion prize for merino greasy was won by Watson and Shennan. In longwool greasy, first prizes were won by the New Zealand and A. W. Company ; Mr Telford, of Otago ;Mr Matthew Holmes, of Otago ; Mr Williams of Hawke’s Bay ; for half-bieds, greasy wool, first prizes were won by the New Zealand and A. L. Company, and Mr Telford; for crossbred greasy :; first prizes were won by Mr Nairn, Hawke’s Bay ; Mr Wallace, Auckland;' Mr, Reid,. Otago; For half bred wethers, greasy, first prize, Mr Reid. Crossbred wethers, greasy, ■ first prize, Saunders, Hawke’s Bay; McLean, Hawke’s Bay, second. Wool, first prizes Mr Yorke, Otago ;Mr Terry, Otago. Slipe wool, first prizes, Mr Dalgety, England ; the Gear Preserving Company, Wellington ; Mr G. Atfield, Otago. Salted sheep pelt: G. Atfield. Champion prize for greasy longwool : Mr Telford, Otago.
