CANADIAN DEFENCE.
DISCUSSION BY THE FEDERATION LEAGUE. Victoria, January 24. The Federation League of Canada is debating a proposal setting forth the desirability of imposing an Imperial import duty of five per cent, to provide for defence, diplomacy, cables and steamship subsidies. An amendment has been made to the effect that the proposition is untimely.
