CRICKET CLUB.
Ik accordance with advertisement convening same, a meeting of persons interested in the formation of a Cricket Club at Te Aroha, was held in the Palace Hotel on Saturday evening last. On the motion of Mr Hirst, seconded by Mr Cal lerwood, Mr W. Mddruin was voted to the chair, and opened the proceedings by calling upon Mr J. Calderwoo 1, as the convenor, to state what steps bad already been taken towards the establishment of a dub, etc. Mr Caldenvood having responded to this request ; a genera! discussion followed, ami the following resolutions were carried unanimously : (1) Tiiat a Club be formed, to be called the “ Te Aroha Cricket Club.’’ ( 2) That Mr F. Pavitt be elected President. (3) That. Mr J. Winstone be elected Vice President. » i (I) That Mr J. Calderwood be elected Secretary and Treasurer. (5) Tint Revs F. G. Ev iis, T. A. No vie, Messrs Similes. Cooh nine, and Meldrum be elected as a Committee ; with the Captain and Secretary as ex-etficio membeis ; three to form a quorum. : ((i)hThat (lie annual subscription to llie Club lie 5-1, to tie pai lin advance.
