WAIORONGOAIAI. Te Aroha S. and G. Alining Co. : The revolving cylinder furnace was again started last week, and had a short run, desulphurising til a concentrates thathave accumulated since Mr Howell left. The reverberatory furnace was also started nt same time, and has now been at work for over a week, ‘cindering ’ the concentrates above referred to. and also some 15 tons of purchased ore (from Karangaliake), preparatory to same being smelted. Tbe water jacket was blown in yesterday, and smelting commenced last night, and will probably continue for about two days, the quantity of ore and concentrates to be put through being about 40 tons. With respect to the future operations of the Company nothing farther lias yet transpired. KARANGAHAKE Crown G. Mining Co : A meeting of shareholders in the Crown Gold Alining Company was held on Alonday last at the Company’s office, Auckland.—Mr Adam Porter in the chair— : vvhen it was resolved : —“That the company he voluntarily wound up, under the supervision of the following gentlemen : Messrs Seymour George, Grey, Green, and Alelville.” Kenilworth and Woodstock G. and S.Mining Companys; Amalgamation of the Two Companys :—Aleetings of shareholders in the Woodstock and Kenilworth G.aml S. Mining Companys were held in Auckland on Alonday last to consider a proposal to amalgamate the two Company’s. The Woodstock shareholders met at Air . D. G. MacDonneli’s office, AI. W. Gorrie presiiling. It was resolved to voluntarily wind up” the company in order t hat the, amalgamation niigh t be effected. The manager stated that the new company to be formed would consistof 55,000 shares, on the followng basis : to the Woodstock shareholders, 23,818 to those of the Kenilworth, and 2432 to be held in reserve. The Chairman said that the Woodstock Company had L2OO to its credit, apd there were no liabilities Air. AlacDonnpJl was appointed liquidator. The shareholders- of 41}e Kenilworth Company met immediately afterwards at the office of Mr J. Young. Mr H. T. Gorrie presided.
