The letter which appeared in the Ennis “ Guardian,” purporting to be from Mr Charles Parnell, advising public bodies to treat the divorce action brought against him with contempt, and so on turns out to be a hoax, perpetrated with the object of making it appear that these bodieswere interesting themselves in the matter. Mr Parnell deprecates the public subscribing towards his expenses in the pending divorce case. Captain O'Shea is suing the “Freeman’s Journal ” for libel. London, January 10. Another general strike amongst th e London dockers is imminent, in con’ sequence of the Dock Companies hav’ ing refused to dismiss one of their employees who has fallen into arrear in the payment of his subscriptions to the Dockers’ Union. Madrid, January 10. Alphonso, the infant king of Spain, is slightly better, but is still m a precarious state of health.
