BANGALORE.

I learn that Mr Brodribb, of Melbourne, who had the dispute over the sale of Merrie England, sent over an unlimited commission to buy Bangalore, the Nordenfeldt— Frailty colt, at the Mount Wellington sale. Some busybody, though, wired abroad a damaging report about the slight mishapthe colt met with to one of his hocks, and with the Meriie England episode fresh on him, the outcome was, the commission was withdrawn by Mr Brodribb at the last moment. This is an authentic story and I have it from tho commissioner himself, who, it may be added, does not live in Auckland.
