WELLINGTON CUP WEIGHTS.
I don’t think Mr Evett has left the grumblers much to discuss over the W ellington Cup weights. There are, no doubt, the' captious critics, who find fault with everybo> I v and everything, that can point their linger down the list and “ pick it in once,” but the vast majority I opine will vote the compilation a good piece of work. Certainly it is a flattering handicap, but if the majority of the horses are only well there should beagreatcontest, Tirailleur’schance may be left out, for I opine his journey is to Melbourne. Dudu reads well with Bst 101 b, and so does Lady Norah with 81b less, and Leopold 7sb 131 b. On her Dunedin running Lady Florin must have a great chance, and both Quadrant and Kotuku have shown form during the past fortnight good enough for either to win. Another likely pair are St. James and Rose Argent. When acceptances appear, there will be time enough to make a definite selection.
