The second day’s races of the Thames Summer Meeting were: favoured with splendid weather. Results Midsummer Handicap, of 30sovs,. one’ mile and a - half. Memorandum, 7sfc (Priest), 1 ; Try. Fluke, 6st (Pennell), .2. Hailstone also started. , ‘ Local-Handicap, of 25sovs, one. mile.— Yum Yum, " 7st :-91b» .(McKenzie), 1; Try Fluke, 7sb 31b (Priest), 2. Hailstone and Tawera also started. Tawera fell and broke his neck, and his rider was injured.Thames Handicap Steeplechase, of 70 sovs. Two miles and a-half.—Recruit, list (S. Fergus), 1 ; Dick Turpin, lOst (C. Weal), 2. Seaweed and Tairua also started. Recruit won easily. Dividend, 20s. Goldfield Handicap, of 45sovs. One mile and three-quarters.—Memorandum, 6sb 9tb (Priest), 1 ; Haricot, 7et l?lb (C. Weal), 2. Only these two ran. Dividend, 15s. County Handicap Hurdles, of 35sovs. One mile and three-quarters. —Recruit, lOst 121 b (S. Fergus), 1 ; Seaweed, lCsb 21b (E. Collings), 2. This was almost a walkover for Recruit, as Seaweed jumped very badly'. ITree Handicap, of 20aovs. One mile.— Haricot, 7st Blb (Priest), 1 ; Try Fluke, 6sb 31b (Pennell), 2. Hailstone and Yum Yum starttd. .£1,689 was put through the totalisator during the two days.
