:There was some misunderstanding on Boxing Day with regard to the admission of ladies to the course at Ellerslie. It is' advertised to-day that the fair sex are admitted free so on this score there can bo no doubt on the two concluding days of the meeting next week. A committee of the Auckland Racing Club yesterday afternoon conferred with representatives of the Jubilee Celebration Committee regarding the date of the proposed race meeting. The Racing Clubsuggested that the events fixed for Thursday be postponed till the Saturday, and if this was given effect to, the A.R.C. would give £IOO towards the funds of the celebration. 5 A meeting of the Jubilee Committee is called for next Tuesday to consider the proposals. It seems that St. Leger is to prove a success as a Stallion: At the Hawke’s Bay Meeting on Boxing Day, St. Andrew (by St. Leger—Scottish Lassie) easily secured the Tvyo - year - 0$ Handicap.
