Additional information concerning the deposition of the Emperor Pedro of Brazil have been obtained. It appears that General Fonseca, the leader of the revolt, having first corrupted the Garrison, seized .Rio on Thursday night. On the following morning he proceeded to Petropolis, a town situated N.N.E. from Rio, and connected with Rio by rail, and surprised the Emperor. General Fonseca informed Emperor Pedro in the presence of his family that he had been deposed. The news was received with composure, and within an hour the Emperor and his family were placed on board the mail steamer bound for Lisbon, which was escorted to sea by a warship under orders from General Fonseca. The new Government presented Emperor Pedro, prior to his departuie, with and promised him an annual pension of So,ooo centimes, together with the usual allowance lor his family.
