BAKERS' STRIKE SUCCESSFUL. CONCESSION TO 'BUSMEN. DOCK LABOURERS' PAY INCREASED. London, November 17.
Nearly all of the master bakers in London have conceded the demands made by their employees for shorter hours without any reduction of wages. The Road Car Company have agreed to grant the request of the employees for a reduction of the hours of labour to twelve daily, provided other metropolitan omnibus companies will make similar concessions. The rate of pay received by labourers at the Tilbury Docks has been increased by four to six shillings per man per week, and in some instances the men employed in other docks have had their pay increased by sums ranging from eight to thirteen shillings per week.
