Mining News. WAIORONGOMAI.

Te Aroha S. and G. Mining Co. : — There islittlo fresh to report with respect to mining operations in this portion of the goldfield. The wet jacket smelter is still running most successfully, and it is expected thai all the ore at present available will be through by to-morrow (Thursday) evening, when the futnace will bo shut down. In the mines and at the battery, work is progressing as when last repotted. Mr Howell, the Company's manager, purposes leaving for Auckland to morrow or Friday, and will sail for Sjdney by ' Frisco mail steamer, due in Auckland on Saturday next. Mr Poage, the Company's assayer, also leave" by same boat ; Mr Wm. Adams remaining in charge at the works for the present.
