They ha\o dihen in about BO.'t, which this telegram refers to This is a very important find, proving gold goes down in these large reefs on the Mercury Bay district. Once a battery i* p'accd on the field we may expect considerable results from the district. The New Find have also got hold of something very gond lately, which is situated close to the abo\e claims.
Thames, October 23. Lonk Hand. — Cleaning up and letorting ha? taken place for the following icturns: — 46 loads quartz crushed for 930z ; 101b picked stone tor 150/, lOchvb; 4 loads quartz, trial, 2oz 4dwU Total molted gold, 107oz 19d\vb. CA~Mv.ni a. — The crushing was completed on Friday k\pt for the return of 108oz sd\vt retorted gold, which was reduced to 106oz melted gold. Of this yield 58oz sdwt were fiom 27 loads general quartz, 440/, from 11 loads and 18lb picked stone from the main eel, and 6oz from 10 loads tailing**.
