Thames, October 22. Lone Hand. —A trial crushing of four loadsof quartz from the seventh stope east of the point where the junction of the Moa and Adelaide reefs take place in the Manchester section, has been completed for 2oz ldwt melted gold. Nrcw Moanataiaiu. — The tender of Mr Charles Whisker, at 13s 9d per foot, has been accepted for driving about 40 feet on the Reuben Parr reel. TuhNTotf. — The erection of the machinery in connection with the rock drill at the Company's shaft has now been almost com- | pleted, and ib is expected that it will 1 bo ready for a start during the present week. ; Divks. — The manaeer reports : Since my last report I have the pleasure to inform you that I have cut the hangingwall leader between No. 1 and No. 2 levels, and in breaking down the leader have seen a few colours of gold, but 1 shall have to drive about 25 or 30 teet to get underneath the run of gold. In No. 3 level 1 have driven on the hangingwall leader 20 feet through a fplondid class of country, and in taking down the leader J find it is carrying » r >ood mineral and showing a few colours of gold, and I am rising in order to begin stoping bv tho end of the week. I intend stoping on main reel in No. 3 level to-morrow morning. Tho ion shoot is finished, and I have constructed a hopper to receive I lie quartz, and have commenced trucking to the hopper.
