THE VICTORIAN DERBY.

Dreadnought's meritorious triumph over Carbine in the Caulfiold Stakes on Saturday last makes the Victorian Derby look the best of good things for the Hon. J. White'e colt. The betting implies that if all goes well with him he will start one of the hottest favourites on rocord. The only candHute of any Derby; pretensions we have not yet seen out is Richelieu, and it will be a genuine surprise to mo if he can overthrow the favourite. On Dunkeld's running at Caulfield his chance of winning is greatly discounted, and it is quite plain OBrien has not taken over a Carbine this , year.
