WINNING OWNERS IN AUSTRALIA.
From the "Australasian" I gather that) the greatest winner in stakes during the racing season of 188 89 was Mr James White, with a total of 14,49650v5, from 11 horses and 31 races. Mr D. S. Wallace comes second, with 10,32650v5, the result of 15 races, from three horses, two of them Carbine and Mentor. Mr S. Miller is third, with 7,86450v5, and then come Mr W. Kelso with 4,30450v5, and Mr W. Gannon, 3,83950v5. Mr J. Marshall, of Auckland, is well up, having won three races, which realised him a cheque of 2,66250v5. The only other New Zealand owner in the list is Mr G. G. Stead, who won 1.42850v5.
