THE SYDNEY HANDICAPPER'S " TIP."

Referring to the weights declared for the concluding days of the A.J.C. Meeting, " Vigilant " writes :— Mr Scarr in his l'ecent handicaps has given us his Derby tip as far as the Hon. James \\ hite's horses are concerned. He allots Dreadnought Bst 71b — an enormous weight for a three - year - old in the spring —in the Squatters' Handicap, a mile and a quarter race. Ganged by the handicaps for another race, "The Shorts," Mr Scarr considers Singapore 51b inferior to Dreadnought, and yet within seven pounds of Sedition. On this reasoning, Dreadnought is within two pounds of Sedition — the fastest six-furlong mare in Australia — over her favourite course.
