DOT LEETLE CHERMAN BAND. Dedicated to Suffering Mothers by one of Them.
My maternal heart is rent ' With an aching discontent. For a German band, which, 11 with a jag on maybe, . ■, * < i Gathers near by every night ,- i i When I'vo lulled my babe to quiet, And splits the air with • Hush, Don't Wake the Baby ! ' The thund'ring poly tone . '{ Of the choleric trombone. As it smites the atmosphere with ' Umpta-rah-ta!'' • Forms a strangely weird duet With the plaiuth c clnrinet. Like a typhoon in the Desert of Sahara., Every night they come and go— 1 Ah, but who can tell the woe ' . , , They leave hehind ? Oh, say can there a way be For my babe in slumber sweet ' To remain while in the street > • That band is roaring * Hush, Don't Wake the Baby !'
