Renata and Cyclone cut out; the running, with Tongariro third, and Tirailleur fourth. They kept this order until the back of the course, when Cyclone had ten lengths' lead. After this they all closed up, and Cyclone dropped back. Tirailleur then ran up, and the race was all o\ er, the colt winning easily by two lengths Time, 2min 48 2-sth sec. Dividend, £2 7s. When the flag fell Kapo was left at the post. Sleep at once rushed to bho front, but it was not lopg before Dryad came up, and entered the straight first. Here a pretty race ensued between Dryad, Pearl Powder, and Dreamland, resulting in Mr Gollans filly winning a splendid race by half-a-neck from Dryad, with Dreamland, half-a-lencth away, third. In consequence ot Tirailleur's win yesterday at Napier, there was at once a stong run on him for the New Zealand Cup, and what money was available was immediately snapped up at hundreds to ten and twelve. Christchukoh, Sept. 30. Silvermark has been scratched for the New Zealand Cup, and Corunna and Fabulous foi all engagements at the G.J.C. Spring Meeting.
