The gold is contained in six boxes, which are in the captain's cabin on deck. Captain Hill thinks that it can be recovered, but that there is little* chance of getting anything else out of the steamer. She is not likely to break up unless a change of weather occurs. On their way hero the passengers signed a memorial to the captain expressive of their admiration of his conduct after the disaster. Among the passengers were six ladies. It has transpired that the Colonial Insurance Company only loses £125 in the Koran ui. It was stated to amount to £2,000.
Wellington, this day. The Koranui will bo sold by auction on Wednesday. The divers leave to-day to secure the gold.
