Selector's Land Revaluation IMPORTANT DECISION.
Some doubt appears to have existed as to whether the Tillage settlers under Mr Ballanee's Act came within the scope of the Land Ee-ral nation Act. Whatever doubt may have existed, appears to have been determined in favour of the village settlers, who, as I nra informed by the Minister of Laurls, come within its provisions. Any selectors who entered into occupation of any allotment of land before the first day of January, 1888, mag apply to the Land Board of the provincial district nt any time before the first day of January, 1891, to have a revaluation made of the allotment in his occupation. The Board may hear any sach application, and may make inquiry iato each case, and for snch purpose shall have all the powers conferred upon a Land Board by section 72 of the Land Act, 1885, and if they see fit may order a revaluation to, be. madfe of any allotment the subject ef such inquiry in such manner as they may think best, or may confirm, the valuation appealed against. ,or may make such modifications in the terms thereof, or may rejpet any application as they think fit. The basis of revaluation will be- the value of the allotment exclusive of improvements at the time of re ruination, — Wellington • Correspondent — Herald,
