AQUATICS.

Richard K. Fox, of the New York " Police Gazette," intimated in London the other day that he would ere long probably offer big prizes for a single scull race, open to the world. The race is to be rowed in America, and fair play to be guaranteed to all. Questioned as to the amount he proposed to give in prizes, Mr Fox said : " Well, I've really not given that serious consideration ; but, anyway, the sum will be the largest ever offered for a boat race ; and the ' Police Gazette ' trophy will go to the winner."
