SUPPLEMENTARY ESTIMASTE. AUCKLAND VOTES. Wellington, September 13.

The supplementary estimates were brought down last night. ,£l,OOO appears in the ordinary revenue account, which is £36,823. Under this heading in the Customs Department is a compassionate allowance of £133 to the widow of Captain Williams, late landing waiter at Auckland. £540 goes to Captain McCarthy as balance of wages when in command of s.s. Mokau. Under the heading of Public Buildings Department is £500 for repairs to the Auckland Government Hou&e and outbuildings, extension of lodge and sanitary improvements. £300 goes to a similar purpose for Wellington Government House. A caretaker for the Waiotomo is provided for at a coat of £104, and a dairy instructor is to get £400, including travelling expenses. These two come out of the land fund account. The total of supplementary estimates, from which is £6,154 chargeable to the Public Works Fund, £51,285. For the purchase of native lands, for miscellaneous roads and bridges in the Auckland district, the following votes are wanted : Rotoiti to Tikitere, £100; to Waitomo Caves £1,200; Otorohanga to Kihikihi, £200 ; Mangapai Block, £300; Talariki drains, £100. Among the unauthorised expenditure for the last year is £5,473 Is 6d advanced to accounts of local bodies, none of which are for Auckland. £127 10s 2d was paid as compensation to C. H. Robertson, assistant lightkeeper, Manukau Heads, for loss of office,
