THE SALES OF TRENTON.
In a conversation with Mr J. B. Williamson the other day anent his Sydney trip, I gleaned a fact which will be news to the great majority. When it was given out that Trenton was knocked down at auction in Sydney for 800 guineas to Mr Andrew Town, the Richmond studmasfcer, there was widespread astonishment at the great son of Muskeb fetching such a small price, but it turns out there was a mistake over the matter. Mr Williamson spent a couple of days-at Mr Town's monster breeding establishment, and that gentleman told him he gave 300 guineas for the lease of Trenton for last season, and being so well pleased with him at the end, he paid another 1,200 guineas and bought him outright. Mr Williamson informs me that Trenton has furnished into a magnificent specimen of the thoroughbred.
