There is no stake with less than 300^ovs.. added, while the Melbourne Cup has 5,00050v5., and Derby arid .Maribyrnong Plate l.OOOsovs. each. The Derby Day's prizes amount to 3,40050v5. , Cup Day 6,500 soys., Oaks Day 2,20050v5., and Steeplechase Day 2,85050v5. In every instance there is a sweepstake to the value of the prize,, and general entries close on Oct. 7.
