KAR ANGAHAKE,
Gorge Road : The contractors (Messrs Kelly and Poltonj, are pushing on with with the work, and hare already made a good show. The formation so far has been very easy, but some gigantic boulders are now showing, to blast which the contractors intend to give the Rackarock a trial . Mr McArthur, agent for this new explosive, being here at present, will give all the necessary instruction, and personally superintend thu blasting operations for a day or two. Cassel Experimental Plant ; Work is being steadily carried on with this plant, and, I learn, with very satisfactory results. Ivanhoe and Truro : The owners of this mine have & largo number of hands employed, driving and stoping on the Scott reef, north of the slide, and prospecting in other parts of tha mine. The battery is idle for the last week. Tribute Section : White and party are breaking out another crushing of what looks like pnyab.e ore, Kenil worth : Shepherd's Tribute : This party have been for some weeks driving a level to intersect the reef at the bottom of the winze. This was done at a distance of about 140 feet ; the reef prospecting well where cut in the low level. Mooro and Party, Tribute : In this tribute section payable ore is being broken out. Specimen Hill : This holding has been surveyed by Mr Dreyer during the past week. Some extra ground (lately held by Mr Mat Quinton and party) was, added to it, ami the name changed to the Specimen Hill Extended. Prospecting : Messrs Heitman Liddel, and others are doing a lot of prospecting on the ground formerly held by the Mammoth G.M. Co. Crown G.M. Co : The contractors for sinking the winze are making good headway, and expect to hole through to No. 3 level in a few days. There is nothing new to report from other parts of the mine.
