I see by papers to hand this week thab Singapore and Daniel have been supported to win the double of Melbourne Derby and Cup fpr all available , money at thousands to five. Daniel is a three-year-old chestnut colt, by Neckersgat — Minnie, by Lucifer — Countess, by and was bred by Sir Thos. Elder. The colt was bought by Mr W. Lang, as a yearling, for 500 guineas, and soon became the property of Mr W. A. Long, the Sydney sportsman. His only appearance as a two-year-old was in the First Nursery Handicap, five furlongs, at the A.J.C. A-utumn Meeting, carrying 83t, and he finished nowhere to Antieus (7st 21b). Daniel's handicap in the Melbourne Cup is 6sb 71b, and the same in the Caulfield Cup. . He is also in the Champion Stakes.
