THE DOINGS AT RANDWICK.

In the latest issue of the "Town and Country Journal" tohand"Martindale" has some interesting notes anent training operations at Randwick, from which I clip the following :—" : — " All our horses have wintered well ; and cespite the long continuance of rain, everything looks well forward. Harry Raynor has a kind of muzzle now on Arsenal ; the Cup winner bavins a penchant for the legs of any rider on the horse he is working with. He was given strong work with Wycombe. Both look well, the colt especially so. Melos was out doing slow work, and looks as if he will well hold, his own in the spring. The Australian Peer was out doing easy work. Of Tom l'ayten's string Rudolph appears to be the most improved animal. The gelding appears to have grown all over. He did useiul work, as did also Sinecure, who al&o looks well, with Dreadnought. Abercorn looks well ; but Cranbrook is just a trifle lighter in appearances than one would wish him to be at this stage of the proceedings. Alonaghan has Manton now doing useful work. The horse is a good mover, look 3 well, and must take no end of beating when he is ready. His companion is The Dodge, a son of that sterling little racing mare, Venetia. The Australian Peer's sister, Ringdove,, is «a second edition of Darebin's son. She moves over the ground in very similar style to him. Perhaps there is a trifle less knee action, but quite enough to remind one of Abercorn's great opponent. She is a very taking filly and should be capable of doing something out of the common. Anteus looks just about as well as his most ardent supporter could wish, and does long steady work with Mat Harris in the saddle. Ho is a handsome colt, and takes a lob after his sire, Sir Modred."
