ME3SKS AKTHLIiAND BUDDMJ'S WEEKLY ReI'OKT. — A tuirly brisk week in all departments. Produce supply has not been so great as usual. Potatoes remain about the same. Onions have sold at higher pi ices; supply very limited. Bacon of good local cure, not too heavy, in demand. Cheese ot good quality is wanted. Butter: Corned still overstocked, but little loallygood; fresh in fair demand, moro could have been disposed of Fruit: The supply of apples has greatly dropped otF, a much better price having been gjt for those in first class condition ; several lots were not so, and had to be sold atl'.dtol'd lb; soiae ot tho best biought 4 ld per 10. Lemons were in fair supply, but owing to the iact of the supply being so small a few weeks ago. Southern buveis had to send to Sjdncy i'or a supplj-, therefore the prices ruled much lower than they would have done. Poultry: A fair supply of fowls; these brought a good average price ; none ot first-class quality entered. Not many ducks entered : these were not in first-rate condition, theiefore prices ruled low. No gecso entered ; but few turkeys, there were small ones. Not a large numbers oC pigs entered; there was a very good demand ; prices ruled high. Furniture market has not been very brisk. Drapery, clothing, etc., have brought fair prices. Seven sales by auction have been held ; the attendance at each of them has been Monday and Thursday : Drapery, clothing, etc., at the Mart. Tuesday: Household furniture and ofi'ects at the rosidenco ot Mrs Hampshire, Victorli Avenue, Mount Eden. Tuesday and Friday: Poultry. produce, fruit, &c., at the Mart. On Tuesday, a full supply of hides were firm at last week's quotations. At Remu era on Thui sdny dairy cattle were dull of sale. Stoio cattle in demand at a considerable advance in price; holders should forward to the auction. Fat cattle in usual number were bettor worth 2s the 1001b. Prices for good steers langed from 16s to 18s the ICOlb. Fat calves in lull number kept their value, and sold briskly. The ewes advertised sold at lls 3d; cio-sbrod Down ewes, in low condition, 8s 6d. Fat sheep were better worth about Is each, and brought near 3d the lb ; shorn hoggets irom 8s lo lls. Pigs of all classes 'u cro in demand at full values.
