Cardinal Manning's Advice to the Railway Men.
' SoMi: of. you possess, or are acquiring po&-se^f-ion of, your own houses,' said Cardinal Manning in an address on thrift to the employees of the South Eastern and Metropolitan Railway Companies, at a meeting held ab the Cannon-street Hotel. ' Remember any man can build you a house, but no human being can build you a home. Build houses for yourselves by all means if you can, bub by God's help let the roof be supported by the«e four pillars : Prudence, Justice, Patience, and Fortitude. Then under il will be the love of parents for {heir children, the obedience of children to their parents, consideration for the welfare of others, and all bhe happiness of home.'
