The 'Madras Mail' reports that some bime last year a solitary male elephant which had killed two nieu, and was a source of terror to the neighbourhood, was pursued and killed in a lalook- of the South Arcot district. The tusks are 6ft. along I the curve, and weigh 50lb each.
